Pathway Programs

There are pathways or foundation courses, meant to prepare the students going for high education

Three types of higher education

  • Bachelor’s
  • Master’s
  • Doctoral degrees

Bachelor’s or undergraduate degree

Bachelor’s is of two types

Ordinary

This degree is usually a 3 years full-time course.

Honors

This degree is a study of 4 year full time course.

Master’s

After finishing Bachelor’s one can go for Master’s which needs 1 to 2 years of study.

Doctoral Degrees:

Full-time Degree usually lasts for three or four years, while part-time degree can take up to six or seven.

Academic year in the UK

The academic year is conducted from Sept/Oct to June/July. Some limited UG, Masters, and Ph.D. courses are available in January Intake. Some foundation courses are offered throughout the year by the private Pathway programs providers.

Scholarships:

There is a plethora of scholarships, fellowships, loans, grants and bursaries for the international students. Scholarship is a good source of funding for international students. Some scholarships are funded by the government and some are non-government-funded. Even the Universities offer scholarships options.

Most Popular schemes after graduation

Tier 1 -( Graduate Entrepreneur )

This is for the graduates with genuine and credible business ideas and entrepreneurial skills endorsed by their universities.

Tier 1 - ( Entrepreneur )

This scheme is for the students who can start a business in the UK.They don’t require a sponsor or an endorsing by their universities

Tier 2

A graduate can stay in the UK if he/she gets the employment with a minimum salary of £20,800.

Tier 5( Temporary worker )

Students can avail this scheme if they take up a specific type of work in the UK for a period of 1/2 years, but they should have TIER 5 sponsor.

Tier – 4

A Ph. D graduate can stay for one year in the UK to work or to do business. For this, the students must apply 6 months before completing their doctorates.

Working while studying.

All international students qualify for free medical treatment under the ( NHS ) after completing six months of study.

UK Admission Process:

  • Decide on your university and course
  • Visit the official website of the University and apply
  • Wait for the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies).After getting the confirmation letter, send your acceptance
  • Now, prepare for Visa application

UK VISA Process (step by step):

Once you receive your CAS from the university you had applied to, you can apply for a student visa.

  • Determine the required visa-short term or Tier 4
  • You need to attend for a visa interview
  • Get your screening test done for Tuberculosis
  • If your stay in UK is for more than 6 months, you have to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge
  • Send in your biometric information after filling your visa application
  • The minimum visa processing time is 3 weeks, but it can be extended based on your application.
